Obituary of Jean Cameron

Dr. Jean ("Jeanie") Cameron, 57, daughter of the late Jim and Annabelle Cameron passed away September 11, 2016 in Antigonish, NS. Jeanie was a devoted mother and sister and is survived by her sons, Cameron, Brent, Colin, and Marcus VanOirschot and by her siblings Doug (Janet), Joe (Betty), Estelle, John (Brenda), Mary Lou, Loretta (Tony Secco), Elizabeth, Ann (Jerry MacDonald), and Terry. Jeanie graduated from StFX in 1981 and from Dalhousie Medical School in 1985. She was well known in the community having practiced medicine in Antigonish her entire professional life and having continued an athletic lifestyle that began with her running in local track meets under the mentorship of Bernie Chisholm and later competing provincially, nationally and internationally. Visitation Thursday September 15, from 2-4 and from 7-9 pm in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday September 16 at St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Rev Donald MacGillivray presiding.
