I remember growing up in the tight knit community on the South River where families were friends and friends were family. Young and old were welcomed in and shared food and conversation. It was in this setting that I often dropped in on Maggie Willy, John A’s grand mother , Cassy, Angus Charley, Mary (Jim Hugh) and of course John the bear.
All of these exhibited a down to earth existence combined with a wicked sense of humour. John A inherited these qualities.

We are sending our condolences and love to Cathy and extended family. He was a very loving dad and he did make the best turkey dinner we ever had. Especially the gravy. Thousands of calories but every bite was amazing.
That’s what I will remember about him. His amazing dinner and gracious host he was to us all.
Thank you for the wonderful memories
U will be greatly missed.
From the Bertin family. Xo
