To Jackie’s entire family, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of dear Jackie.
I first met Jackie in the early eighties in Halifax through a mutual friend who grew up with her in Antigonish.
As was very easy to do with Jackie, we made friends very quickly and created many special memories over the years.
There are so many wonderful words to describe Jackie: friendly, caring, compassionate, humorous, social, and kind. Jackie had a heart of gold and showed unrelenting kindness to her friends, family or a needy person she may encounter on the street. She genuinely “gave” from her heart and expected nothing in return. Jackie was indeed a special person. I will forever keep the wonderful memories of her close to my heart. RIP dear Jackie.

My sincere sympathies to Jackie’s family and loved ones. Jackie was an old and dear friend from our teenage years. While in Halifax we met for our annual dinner out with mutual friends, Karen and Valerie, from our Antigonish days. In recent years it would be a chat, usually, at the Sobeys parking lot in Antigonish, last time there was a soft warm rain which didn’t deter our conversation, that I will remember with comfort and fondness. Jackie was always in a hurry and on the go, always kind, and dear to everyone.

To the Sears family, I offer my sincere condolences. I am heartbroken at the loss of Jackie.
I worked with Jackie for over 20 years, she was not only a co-worker she was a great friend. She was my sidekick at work. Many laughs and stories, a foodie she was always trying new recipes. Jackie was a giver and willing to help and wanted nothing in return.
It is tough writing this note, as the tears flow. I still can’t believe you are gone.
Jackie, you will be forever missed. Family and friends remember she's no further than a thought away. I will continue to pray for you all. Rest in Heavenly Peace Jackie.

The deep shock and unbelievable sadness that hit me, upon receiving the Dec 29th phone call that you had left us on that day, Jackie, will continue for many, many days to come. Never, ever, ever did I think that you would be gone when I returned after Xmas. To be one day the vibrant person that you were, to the suddenness of all of this, to be no more. I still think it just can't be so. It just can't be so.
Your many phone calls over the years were welcomed always, as were your updates from the hospital ..... sadness at first with the not so good news, to the day of the great news that it wasn't what was thought originally. I shared and rejoiced in your great happiness.
Knowing you for so many years, the memories are so very many.; there were happy and sad times in each other's lives that we shared. The laughs we had were endless, from you buying me at least one of every mask that ever dared to appear in the Square Dollar Store or Lawtons or Shoppers during Covid, to absolutely refusing to take money for any one of them; from our in-depth discussions about politics north and, but especially south of the border where we solved all the problems on the phone and wondered why they weren't calling us for solutions; from the good recipes you would tell me about, to the fact that they never somehow seemed to turn out for me like they did for you; from the time you gave me bingo lessons, to the big midnight after-bingo win celebration at your place. I could go on and on, as my memory is full of the many laughs that we had surrounding those and other events.
And your kindness was endless. I'm thinking of the stews and food you made a sick relative of mine; the coffee and lunches you bought various times for a homeless man and a homeless lady at Scotia Square; your offer of help, and your phone calls to me during & after imy illness. Once again, I could go on and on.
You were always there, Jackie. It's so hard to imagine that you no longer will. No more get togethers, no more chats, but especially no more phone calls. I can hardly bring myself to imagine that going forward.
I am thankful for my visit with you in the hospital before going to Cape Breton for xmas. I never imagined it would be the final one with you ever.
To all your siblings, Judy, Anne, David, Donnie, Peter and Sandy and their families, I offer my most sincere sympathy. To your work and life friends, I offer the same.
It was tough reading your obituary; tears fell. I hope you know that it discribed you to a "T". I hope you know that you are and will be missed by so very many, including me, just a friend of many years. I hope you know that I will remember you, your kindness and your laughter forever going forward. But most of all, Jackie I hope you forever rest in peace
Margaret
