I was so saddened to hear of the Aunt Mary's passing. She was a warm and compassionate person, hard working, practical and fun loving at the same time. I have very fond memories of gatherings at her places in Toronto, with her children, grandchildren and brothers and sisters who came to visit. I will never forget how Mary and Dan, (and all the rest of the family) could make my mother laugh for days!
It was always a good time, and there was always room for more no matter how many of us crowded in. I am glad that she was able to spend her last years back in Nova Scotia with her loving sisters and devoted son. Thinking of you All.
Rest in Peace Mary,
Love Kim MacDonald & Family

It is always a sad moment when the matriarch of the family passes on. Thoughts and prayers to Joe, Margaret, Michael and family. May God place his hand on Mary Ellen's shoulder and welcome her home.
God Bless

Grandma,
I have so many cherished memories of you. Your quick wit and great sense of humour always made spending time with you so much fun.
Your grin always made me smile, espically when you were cheating at cards!
Your Sunday morning call out of “Raise to the palms of your feet” when you were trying to get me out of bed for church.
Sunday dinner and watching Walt Disney.
Watching the Golden girls, laughing till your face hurt.
My list could go on forever. I am deeply saddened that you are gone, but my love and memories of you will be with me always!
This world has lost a truly kind hearted and beautiful lady, but heaven has gained one heck of an angel!!
Forever in our hearts,
Stephanie, Erik, Jayla and Reis xoxoxo

Dear Quirk Family,
We were saddened to receive a telephone call from Aunt Cassie informing us about Aunt Mary Ellen's passing. Although we have all felt her slipping away from us cognitively over the years, we could always still count on seeing that smile and that twinkle in her eyes to know that some things never change.
We have so many fond memories of Aunt Mary Ellen over the years...her great laughter and mischievous grin, her compassion for the less fortunate, her kindness to all, her welcoming home, are but a few we recall. May your own memories sustain you through this difficult time.
God Bless all of you,
Love, Duncan & Goretti MacIsaac

Grandma you will be missed.
When I think of you when I was a kid, I think of Sunday visits at your place having dinner, laughs and rooting through your basket of combs in the bathroom to brush Jerome’s hair!
But my fondest memories are of later, living on Gifford st. Art and I had many a cup of tea and whatever sweets you had on hand in the evenings. Your sense of humour and your kindness will never be forgotten.
Love Shannon, Arthur, Ava, Cole & Mason

Grandma,
I will always remember the twinkle in your eyes.
Your 'Quirk' smile.
The way your said 'hospital' :)
The sound of your laughter.
Sharing your bed with you during our visits.
Hearing you say 'God Bless him/her' after hearing about someone going through difficult times.
Each time I make 'your' cinnamon buns I think of you.
I am so grateful my sons and husband were able to get to know ‘Grandma Mary’.
You are often on my mind and always in my heart.
Love forever,
Michelle, Don, Sheldon & Samuel xo

My deepest sympathies to the Quirk family on the passing of your mother.
I will always remember and cherish visits with your mom both in Toronto and in Antigonish.
She had a sense of humor that was memorable to say the least. Her ability to cheat at cards and he quick wit were her legacy, but mostly I remember her warm heart.
God love her and may she rest in peace. I hope that your treasured time with your mother over the years will sustain you all through your loss.
RIP Aunt Mary Ellen!
