Lynch (Reynolds), Vera Majella
Vera Lynch, age 102, of Antigonish, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving friends. Born in Norton, NB on August 14, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Honorah May (Ruland) Reynolds.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Anne (Carl), Corner Brook NL, Mary (the late Bill O’Leary), Lawrencetown NS, Patricia (Frank), Toronto ON and her sons Michael (Coleen), Edmonton AB and Harry (Tina), Toronto ON.
Vera was predeceased by her husband Edward and her sisters Greta, Ella and Patricia and brother Clarence.
Vera was dearly loved by her grandchildren Karlene (Miles), Kathryn (Jordan), Susan (James), Robert (Olivia), Jessica (David) and Laura (Robert). She was very proud of her grandchildren and they cherished her greatly as a role model in their lives.
Vera married Edward Lynch in 1950 and after a teaching career in Saint John NB, moved with her family to Antigonish. Vera and Ed taught at the regional high school for many years and retired in 1982. She graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from St. Francis Xavier University.
Vera loved teaching and always enjoyed reconnecting with her former students. Vera was blessed with wonderful neighbours and kind friends, who filled her days with great happiness. Vera will be remembered for her dedication to family and friends, sense of style and joy of life.
Vera delighted in the recent birth of her first great grandchild, Annabelle Vera.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22, from 2-5 p.m. at MacIsaac Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ninian Cathedral, with Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding, on Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m., burial in the parish cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted and donations may be made to St. Ninian Parish Foundation.
