I worked with CJ in small village on Great Bear Lake and what a marvellous person to have as a staff friend. And a friend he was!
My wife and I would give CJ a loaf of our homemade each week. He received it with embarrassing reverence. He said it reminded him of real 'down home' fare. (A loaf of white bread flown in from Yellowknife cost between $7.00 - $10.00 and it was a wee a wee bit 'old'!). He spoke of Antigonish with great enthusiasm and always injected with no small part - of love. CJ missed home as did I.
It's easy to miss your wife and children when so distant,
EVERY morning he went for a long walk and talked about the big wolves and black bears he saw on most every excursion.
There were grizzlies there as well but he didn't encounter one (I saw tracks now and then!). EVERY morning in the 'winter' - and it all seemed like winter most of the time (-40 wascommon) was not a problem. But when Spring came in later May and June, and black flies and mosquitoes which would devour you more quickly than the Big animals, Clarence did not miss his morning walks.
His infective kindness stays with me.

Dear Anne and family,
Carol and I and the rest of our family send our heart-felt condolences on the passing of Uncle Clarence. I always enjoyed Clarence's good humour and wit, the last time at the 2013 Cameron Reunion. Unfortunately, we cannot attend the wake or funeral because Carol is recovering from radiation treatment. However, we will continue to remember all of you in our prayers.
With love,

To Mr. Cameron's family
Mr. Cameron was always one of my favourite teachers. He was so kind to me and always had something nice to say to me when he met me. . After finishing school, I was so happy to meet him on the street or at the market. He always stopped and had a nice long chat to see how things were going in my life.
I will miss him. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Dear Elizabeth, and entire Cameron family
Oh what memories seeing this picture of your Dad brings back. As a kid I used to sneak down the stair case of our home on Sunset Terrace to listen to the Cameron Clan sing "Good Night Irene." Your Dad's voice was always the loudest. I also think I once saw him eat a worm ... LOL. It is so hard to lose a parent, even if it is time for them to go. Please know I am thinking of you all at this time. And, although I feel sad, remembering your Dad is putting a smile on my face and a giggle in my chest.
Bless'ya all

Aunt Ann, Mark, Donnie, Cubby, Clare, Elizabeth and families;
I was so very sorry to hear of Uncle Clarence's passing. I have nothing but the fondest memories of Uncle Clarence who was simply "one of the good one's"! While I know, from losing my own Dad, in 2001, that you are all going through a pretty rough time, but hopefully your many memories, from being part of a loving family, and knowing that Clarence had a long, well lived, life, will help you all get through this. While I can't be in Antigonish, this Friday, for the celebration of Clarence's life, please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Take care!
