Don, I was saddened to hear of Marlene's passing. Marlene had a unique quality that made her easy to like, and someone who maintained a special place in the minds of those of us who had the privilege to have known her. Her dedication to the class of 65 will always be remembered and appreciated. You were indeed lucky to have had such a wonderful person to share your life with. I send my condolences to you and your children.

Dear Donnie and Family,
We were very sad to hear of the death of Marlene. We remember her good cheer and hospitality so well, with the Clan MacMillan. The young boys who carefully respected all her displayed china and knick-knaks are now young men, but they remember the MacMillan events in Antigonish County and the MacMillan farm.
May God be with you all and keep you in this time of sadness, wonder and lonesomeness. May you feel his comfort and know that in his gracious plan, all departures are but temporary; but all love and goodness, like Marlene's, will one day be vindicated and enjoyed for ever, and we will get to see her again, at that great reunion of "Clan MacAdam and NicEve" in glory!

Dear Don, Ruth & Scott & family & Bev & Ross & Gail & Harvey,
Sorry to hear you no longer have Marlene with you. We were praying for you all during the wake & funeral. For those who don't know us well I grew up within sight of Marlene, Gail & Beverley's home in Harvey. We shared school, Sunday School, Church & Harvey Events. Marlene used to drive Donna Coburn & I from Fredericton to Harvey on weekends in our teens. She roomed with Donna. We have many fond memories of her & her sense of humour. Glad we got to see you & Marlene once at your home. Jim knew you through buying flowers from you at your shop when he lived in Locharber. We will keep you all in our thoughts & prayers. Knowing God will walk with you. Love, Myrna & Jim

My sincere condolences for the loss of your wife, mother, friend. Marlene had a big influence on my career decision. The work she did with 4-H clubs made me aspire to attend the NSAC and pursue a similar career. She was a great lady!

I knew Marlene when she was 4-H rep. for Western Nova Scotia. At that time, I was the Home Ec rep. covering much of the same area. As a result we worked together a great deal. I was certainly saddened to learn of her death, but, in reading her beautifully written obituary, I found myself smiling. So many good memories came flooding back of the times we spent together. There were week-end sessions with the 4-H'ers - often times at the Mid Valley Motel in Middleton, numerous achievement days and a particular stand out was organizing the first club in Shelburne. So many memories, and with Marlene all of them were good. I can certainly appreciate the loss to you, her family, but also to her community. She was a person anyone would be proud to emulate. But I must also add how fortunate you were to have her as part of your lives.

Marlene did a lot for the 4-H program in Nova Scotia. That is where I first met Marlene as a 4-H member. Marlene always liked to see what happened to her 4-H'ers later in their lives. She followed many! I later worked with Marlene as a Director of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board where we had many deep discussions. Marlene was such a caring person which made it easy to work with her. My condolences to all the family - hold dear your memories.

On behalf of the Macdonald Class of 64 and myself I want to extend my sincere sympathy to Don and family on Marlene's passing. I always enjoyed a chat with Marlene and receiving her interesting Christmas letters where she shared news of the family's activities. She was so proud of all of you and your accomplishments. She stayed with me some years ago when she was taking a short course, I believe, in Truro and we had a great time reminiscing about our time at Mac and sharing news of family and friends. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.

Donald, Ruth, Scott and family! Where to start. My deepest most heartfelt condolences to you all. Marlene was such a special soul, who taught many through her gentle and loving guidance. I will remember her always with special 4-H memories, working at the flower shop and our drives back and forth to Sherbrooke during my time as a guide. I adored her and I'm so grateful for the memories. Sending you all strength and love during this difficult time, but I know she is resting in a better place. Thank-you for sharing her with us-she certainly made this world a better place. Love to you all. Take Care. Trina and family.

Our deepest condolences to Donnie, Ruth and Scottie. Marlene was a beautifully person who lighted up their greenhouses better than all,the beautiful flowers that she helped created. I'll always remember the great meals but more so her introletural wisdom. Will pray to our God that he will walk you all through this sad moment. Wish that I, was home to help celebrate Marlene's like. For sure my thoughts will be with you all. Prayers for you all from Andrew & Sheila, West Havre Boucher / Largo.

Donnie, Ruth, Scott and family: My condolences on the passing of Marlene. My childhood memories as a 4-H member have her in almost all of them.
