Joe K. was great to my mother for many years, providing firewood and keeping her long driveway plowed in the depths of winter with that old tractor. He and Kennedy sometimes helped also to keep my horses in hay and wood in my stove...plus another son who works miracles with leather. Although I mostly saw Joe on his trusty steed...tractor, I saw him as a rugged, self-contained, respectful, quiet, gentle man regaling in his family and the natural elements of his beautiful surroundings. I'm certain there's a farm somewhere where he's doing what he loved. He will remain alive in our own personal memories.

Dear Joe,
May you rest in peace.
I am remembering the times you would come over and visit my mother and father ...Patrick & Sophie.
You would go up in the forest with my dad and cut wood.
Those are great memories and it will never be forgotten.

I was blessed with a couple of times i got to spend with Uncle Joe. His home seemed to be the place I attached my ideal place to go to when i visitd Nova Scotia. I was able to take a girlfriend there for a stop through and then my Husband and I stayed for a visit. I have not been able to spend much time with the family in Nova Scotia but I was fortunate to have spent time with Uncle Joe. I will always remember him as a very Kind man. It is good when we know when the end of this life for a special person only means they are going to see the Good Lord in heaven. I bet my dad and him will be doing the jig.
God bless you through this time loss.

I’m sorry for the loss of your DAD, I’ll always remember the kindness your father showed everybody, He was a gentle man and a great man who will be missed. At Christmas time all the kids who got on the bus to go school would give joe a present from all the parents in the surrounding community.
That’s how much everybody respected and loved Joe Chisholm

Dear Lisa, Kennedy and Theresa,
Such truly sad news to hear of uncle Joe’s passing. Greg, Kyle, Brit and myself always looked so forward to seeing him and the entire family when we would come down. Our grandparents, aunts and uncles welcomed him with open arms to heaven and one heck of a ceilidh but sadly we still here will always feel his physical absence. Dad’s eyes always brightened when we all talked of uncle Joe. I sincerely wish for all that is good in this world to come your way.
Love,
Anne, Greg, Kyle and Brit Hurst

Dear Kennedy, Lisa and all the family,
Lou and I were so very sad to hear the news about Joe. Though a tad slower last time we saw him at Pete’s in the fall, he still had his usual twinkle and sense of humour-which seemed always present, He was a man of few words but managed always to be straight forward, open and caring in his delivery. A sweet man in a time in the world where that is a precious thing and sorely missing.
What a wonderful role model, you were lucky to have been able to learn from such a gentle soul.
Linda
I will never forget Joe’s special and generous relationship with Jodi and Ian. His care and kindness for them were very comforting to me.
