My condolences to the Barry Family on the death of their patriarch. I have many happy memories from being in his presence as a refuge from St.FX from 1972-76, playing the piano (loudly) and enjoying the wit and love of the family. I met Anne in the registration lineup on my first day in Antigonish. My father had gone to St. FX with Donald and had given me his name to look up. In the pre-Internet days it had been difficult to stay in touch and I regret that. The Barry's played a big role in helping me mature. May he rest in peace. Pat O'Shea

Our deepest sympathies to your family. Your father certainly lived life to the fullest, contributing to the betterment of both the Church and the larger Community. He was a good friend to my late brother, Rick Hatchette, who admired both your parents very much.

Barry family,
Condolences on your loss. I can't recall a single memory of Donald where he wasn't in good spirits. I'll remember most his sense of humor - as a child and as an adult he could get me laughing pretty easy. He even had me laughing at my grandmother's wake - appropriate or not that's how he rolled. Often when I get talking to Dad about family history, he tells me plenty of similar Donald stories from before my time. He will be missed.

It was with saddened heart that I learned of the passing of your father. I enjoyed the company of your parents on many occasions at Mass at their apartment complex with my mother. They were a model of faith, love and family values. The world is an emptier place without them.

To the Barry Family,
I am deeply saddened at the loss of your beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a wonderful man. I always enjoyed speaking with him and appreciated his calm ways, his interest in others and his great sense of humour. He always made me feel so welcome when I would come by your home on Arbour Drive with Anne, and he was a great friend to my parents for so many decades.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time,
Mary Lou Smith
