I am so very sorry to hear of Donnie's passing. He was a very good friend of my dad, Murray Horne. He worked with him lots in the Ironworkers and when dad died, Donnie was the first to arrive in Cape Breton for his celebration of life. I had heard so many great stories about Donnie over the years and then I got the pleasure of working for him when I joined the Ironworkers, on the Burnside Prison. He taught me so much and was so proud of me becoming the first woman in 752. Donnie was a true gentleman and I feel very privileged to have known him. My sincere condolences goes out to you all. Lots of love from Cape Breton, Margaret Budden (Maggie Horne)

Sorry to hear of Donnie’s passing. I was fortunate to meet and work with him during the mid 80’s onward. He was a great friend, sharing a lot of knowledge on and of the job. We had a few beers and lots of laughs on the many road trips, and stops we made to and from jobs. May you rest easy “old buddy”.
Wilfred Bowie.

I met Donald on several occasions, while I didn't know him well, he always impressed me as an honorable man. He and my brother Kenny were good friends for many years, Kenny passed away three years ago and a bit. He honored Kenny in so many ways during the months before his passing. I always knew when he visited Kenny, Kenny felt better and was loved. You are in y prayers and I know that these two comrades are whooping it up tonight. Be Well and know with certainty that Donnie is taking it all in tonight,
