Tompkins Family Edward, Jack, Daniel, Joanne donated to ANTIGONISH COMMUNITY FOOD BANK SOCIETY
Sunday, December 19, 2021
Dear Kay. I have been in isolation awaiting COVID test results so I was unable to make the wake of the funeral. Please accept sympathy from all of us - Edward, Jack, Daniel and I. We remember the 'stops in Antigonish' through the years with fondness. We remember amazing meals and wonderful hospitality. I had 'tea' with May several times over the years when I visiting the RK for music presentations. She didn't remember me but she was always cheerful and smiling. I enjoyed those cups of tea. We read that you were with her as she passed and that must have been important for both of you. Our deepest sympathy. Joanne

Kay, just learned that May passed away, please accept our condolences. Unfortunately I am working today and am unable to attend her funeral and would have gone to the wake had we known. May was indeed a woman who made herself known in the room, with her super ability to tell a good story or a joke that would make us all laugh. Her faith was paramount in everything she did. I will always remember her and appreciate her welcoming embrace during those lovely evenings sitting by the fire drinking good homemade wine. Be well Kay, and know that your home with May will always be a treasured memory.

Dear Kay,
While it made me sad to read of May’s passing, it also brought back many fond memories of the years we spent at the AL Library. May was always up for some fun, while being a hard working and generous member of the staff. I also remember being welcomed into your home, which was overflowing with hospitality, food and love. I know you will miss her and extend my condolences and love to you. God bless.
