To the MacGillivary family and Linda, Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of Pud. I remember Pud from the days at the pool hall/bowling alley, he was easy going but stern (in a nice way) in keeping us in line. When I moved back home (2015), everyone that I asked highly recommended Pud for tax advise. I will miss our yearly visits with Pud, as will many others will.

I knew Pud mostly through my late husband Bob MacKinnon who also spent a lot of time at the bowling alley in the 60's. Long after Bob passed and I was getting Pud to do my income tax, he would talk a bit about the good old days. Boy did I get a chuckle out of some of those stories! Pud was a truly gifted conversationalist in whose company, I was instantly at ease. I appreciated his wit and wonderful sense of humor and was truly sorry to hear of his passing.

Pud has been a special person in our family since our early teen years. Like the family 'uncle' he did our taxes, accounting and most importantly was a trusted friend to each of us, especially Dad and Denise.
He did make visiting a CPA office entertaining. Antigonish somehow just changed forever to me. RIP Pud
With fondest memories and sincere condolences.

To the MacGillivray clan:
Judy and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of Pud last Saturday. Pud was my childhood and school friend from about age 5. He was my neighbor on Hillcrest Street. Together, with Danny Bradshaw, we were inseparable right up through our teenage years. We played together and learned to drive together. In the summer, Danny, Pud and myself would camp out at night and practice our driving skills between 2 and 4 am. In those days our parents left their keys in the car at night so it was an easy procedure to push the car out of the driveway, coast down Hillcrest St., then start the engine. We would joyride for a couple of hours and then return the car by starting at the top of Hillcrest and coasting back to the vacant driveway. This all came to an end one evening when, after coasting to the bottom of the hill, we discovered their were no keys in the ignition. We had to push the car back up the hill where we were greeted by the waiting owner. I moved to St. John's in the early 1970's and our time together from then was an annual lunch on Main St. The last one, unknown then to us both, was in August. He had such great humour and always so posiitve. Pud was a dear friend and so very proud of his family. I will miss him very much. And I know he would chuckle at his beautifully written obituary.

I lost my breath when I saw his death reported here. Such a kind man indeed. Then I read his obituary and, I would be one of those people referred to when describing his extreme generosity. We met because I had a tax question. Simple enough. What he did for me went way above what I could have expected. This is a man whom I’d only just met! I was a new comer to Antigonish and to Nova Scotia. My husband passed away during our move from Alberta. The kindness, sincerity and genuine human compassion demonstrated by this man remains unequalled to this very day. Such a loss to the community as well as the family. Peace to all.
