Our deepest condolences on the death of your father, Laughie. We knew him from the Evergreen Club. I enjoyed playing pool with him. He was always a gentleman. He and Roddy White went golfing with my wife, Sylvia & me a few times. We thoroughly enjoyed their company ... two great guys gone, but not forgotten. Sylvia made several long putts and Lauchie began calling her Nancy Lopez. Each time she stood over a putt, he would say, "Let's see if you can make this one, Nancy." We visited your parents in Heatherton, but life got in the way & we lost touch. I was just talking to Sylvia about asking Lauchie to go golfing again. Unfortunately, I'm too late. We were shocked to find out about his death ... no one mentioned it to us. May he Rest in Peace.
Lovingly Remembered by Bill and Sylvia Johnston, Long Point, Cape Breton

Lauchie was a great guy and always willing to help out. He was behind numerous construction projects and repairs at our place and could be trusted to do a good job. He was a faithful visitor to my brother Ross when Ross could no longer drive. We missed him and Catherine when they moved back to Heatherton. The world needs more people like Lauchie.
Our sincere condolences to all the family.

To Lauchie's wife and family
Please accept our condolences on Lauchie's passing. Heatherton has lost one of its finest. He was such a kind and caring "gentleman" and our Mom ( Theresa Lauchie ) shared such a wonderful friendship with him. Hopefully they are having a game of cards up in Heaven right now among many family members and friends . I am Theresa's daughter Nena and always enjoyed meeting him..often in Church as he was such a devout man.
May he be resting peacefully. I speak for all of my family re our genuine admiration for dear Lauchie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely
Nena ( nee MacDonald ) Nauss.

I remember Lauchie when he and Catherine and our family (Gagnon's) lived on Reynold's St. in Port Hawkesbury. Lauchie was a great guy. He was truly nice to us children and was very respected by everyone in the community.
There are no words to describe the loss of a husband, a father and a grandfather, but to know he was such a good man must bring you comfort.
sincerely, Lorna Gagnon MacRury

So sorry to hear about Locky. My deepest condolences to all the family. Catherine will sure miss him. He was such a nice man every time he came to see Catherine at the home. Always a big smile on his face. Sometimes Catherine would make him lay down in her bed for a rest. She was a hoot as well.
Well Locky you have your angel wings now so fly high in the sky with the angels. Rest easy my friend. Much love and go bless you all at this trying time in your lives.

I just came down from several days in mountain villages of Mexico, and I read of Lauchie's passing ... that is, his death, not his legendary passing skills with the Warriors. Lauchie and Catherine insisted on helping me here forty years ago, and they insisted on helping me the last time I visited them in Heatherton a few years ago. What a wonderful gentleman! Condolences to all of the family.

Dear Armstrong Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. I certainly enjoyed chatting with Lauchie whenever I saw him. I was honored when he asked me recently to got to Catherine's home in Port Hawkesbury to celebrate her birthday. Lauchie looked so great that afternoon and was so happy.. that is how I will remember him. He was my Dad's(Reg) first cousin as his Mom and my Dad's Mom were related.
God Bless You All and Cherish your abundance of Memories.
Sincerely,
Alice(Connors) Mattie.
