I remember when I first moved to Nova Scotia I was little and confused I felt like I never really fit in. He greeted me with a kind smile and asked me to sit with him at his table. And he continued to be there for me throughout school till he moved. One of my memories would be when he’d show how fast he could solve a rubix cube! Or in middle school we did a project together and he made the paper boat float! I cherish the memories and wish I could have visited with him. I’ll miss you friend. Thankyou for being there for me ❤️❤️

I was lucky enough to see Jacob blossom academically and socially throughout my time teaching Jacob Biology in High School. I always enjoyed stopping and chatting with Jacob in the main area during his self study time, I know he thoroughly enjoyed Science (maybe not Biology as much as Physics), but I will always remember his excellent wit and conversations we had. It was a pleasure to have known Jacob, my thoughts and prayers for Jacob, all his friends and family. Mr Roche

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Jacobs passing. A young man of great humility, empathy, humour and intelligence. As his teacher it was most satisfying to witness his intellectual journey. I hope Jacob finds peace and happiness in the next life. He will be fondly remembered by myself for the rest of my life. A huge loss. Mr G Brown

I am deeply saddened to hear of Jacob's passing. He was such a kind, thoughtful student, and his quiet but positive influence on those around him was always evident. Jacob had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, whether through a simple smile in the hallway or during conversations. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time. Jacob will be greatly missed, but his memory will continue.

I still remember the first time I called you Jake by accident instead of Jacob a short while after we became friends. It slipped out but it made you slightly smile. I could tell you noticed but you didn't correct me and from then on I only ever called you Jake. I have no idea why this feels important but it's one of my favourites. I wish I had shared more with you. You're missed more than you will ever know. Thank you for being the embodiment of love and kindness. I hope you're resting easy buddy.

Jacob, like a comet that streaks past the planet once every 80,000 years, you were one in a million. Your passion for space and all the memories we shared at the astrophysics club will never be forgotten.
Godspeed, and may the deepest secrets of the universe that you spent your life searching for be revealed to you.
