Obituary of Angus Reynolds Walker
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Angus Reynolds Walker. Angus was the son of the late Angus and Isabell (Reynolds) Walker. He is survived by his daughter Shannon (Peter Alexander); granddaughter, Paige (Kyle Hearn); and great grandchildren Hazel, Austin and Gavin. He is also survived by his sister Elaine Walker Alyward, niece Shayne Aylward (Walter MacDonnell); grand niece Amber Aylward, grand nephews Brandon and Dalton Aylward.
Angus started his musical career at a tender age, performing that local radio stations and later he performed in the large clubs in Montreal, Edmonton, Toronto, and Hawaii. He also made numerous television appearances on various shows and had four singles chart in the top 50 of RPM magazine's weekly rating of country music songs, and continued entertaining throughout his life. He was the recipient of the prestigious Maple Leaf Award in 1965, for the most promising male vocalist and, more recently, inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame 2024, for the Quebec region.
Angus was a free spirit who touched the lives of many people with his music, kindness and sense of humor.
There will be a Gathering to celebrate Angus on Tuesday, November 12th from 6 to 8 pm in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish.
Memorial donations may be made to the MacLean Cemetery fund or a charity of your choice.
Burial will take place at the MacLean Cemetery at a later date.
