Our family were neighbours of Angus Walker in Port Hastings. We knew his parents and sister better than "Young Angus" as he was already on his way to his musical stardom when we were kids. The family owned the community canteen, a place where everyone gathered at a certain age while Angus roasted hot dogs on an electric spit of some sort. We were quite fascinated by it, not to mention the pinball machine in the corner. Angus and Isabel were always overly generous with the penny candy that we sometimes bought with cashed in pop bottles. We all knew "Young Angus" was a singer.
